What happens when a talented young photographer brings his creative eye to a business assignment? If that photographer is Atticus Ezra, you get Summit Snapshot; a growing photo card brand that turns everyday beauty into shareable art.

Born from a high school entrepreneurship class, Atticus’s project has evolved into a full-fledged business rooted in love for his hometown and a passion for storytelling through images. We caught up with him to hear how he turned a class assignment into a real venture and why he believes the smallest moments can hold the biggest meaning.

What first got you into photography?

I’ve always loved finding little details in the world that other people might not notice. Photography started as a hobby… like taking pictures of random stuff around town or cool sunsets … but then I realized I could turn that into something people would actually want to share with others. That’s when the idea for photo cards really clicked.

Tell us the story behind the name, Summit Snapshot.

Definitely! 'Summit' comes from my school, Summit School, where the whole business idea started. 'Snapshot' represents not just the photos I take, but also the idea that every card captures a little moment in time. It’s like sending someone a memory or a story … not just a piece of paper.

We heard Summit Snapshot began as a school project. How did that happen?

At Summit School, I took a class called Innovation & Entrepreneurship where we had to come up with a real business idea, create a plan, and actually launch it. That’s how Summit Snapshot was born! I combined my love for photography and my idea to create something real that people could actually buy and send to others. What started as a class project ended up turning into a real business, and it’s been so much fun to keep growing it!

What’s been your proudest entrepreneur moment so far?

Selling my cards in an actual local store, Washington Perk in Winston-Salem, was a huge proud moment for me! Seeing my cards on a real store shelf next to other professional products made me realize that what I’m doing is real… not just a school project anymore.

"Clued made it possible for me to have a legit online store"

As a Clued seller, what’s your favorite feature that makes selling easier?

Honestly, just being able to set up a storefront quickly was HUGE. Clued made it possible for me to have a legit online store that looked professional, even though I’m a beginner. I also love how easy it is to organize my products, update listings, and let people pay online without having to deal with Venmo or checks. It keeps things simple for my customers and way less stressful for me!

If another teen wanted to start a business, what’s your #1 piece of advice?

Start small and just GO FOR IT. You don’t have to know everything at the beginning … you learn as you go. Honestly, most people never even start because they’re scared it won’t be perfect. But no business is perfect when it starts! The important part is trying and learning. Every mistake just gets you one step closer to being better.

Big thanks to Atticus for sharing his story!
